Rhinoplasty
It may be performed to reshape, recontour and define the nose with the purpose to remove a hump, refine the nasal tip, narrow nostril width, or to correct injury, birth defects, or issues that affect breathing.
The importance of balance and proportions are more critical in rhinoplasty surgery than any other area of aesthetics surgery, as no single feature affects the way you look quite as much as your nose.

Are You An Ideal Candidate?
The best candidates for rhinoplasty are people looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look.
If you are considering rhinoplasty surgery, it is important that you are:
- Are at least 16 years old
- Have finished facial growth
- Are generally healthy
- Do not smoke
- Are seeking rhinoplasty for personal reasons, not pressure from others
- Have realistic goals for the procedure
Your Rhinoplasty Consultation
Firstly, you are fully informed of the normal surgery process, plus possible complications. After a thorough history and discussion about your desires, your surgeon will examine you to assess if you are a good surgical candidate. The initial consultation is the ideal time for all your questions about your surgery to be answered as you have to be sure this surgery is for you.
We begin all rhinoplasty consultations by asking what aspects of the nose they would like to improve or alter. It is important that you have a clear idea of what aspects of your nose you are concerned with and what you’re hoping to achieve with the procedure. Feel free to bring representative photographs to your consultation.
In order to achieve harmony, your surgeon will perform a detailed assessment including frontal and lateral nasal views, tip position and shape and nasal width. An internal nasal examination assesses airway functionality. If your initial consultation reveals nasal blockage, breathing concerns or sinus issue, you may need to be evaluated with a CT scan of your nasal bones and sinuses.
We use the latest 3D imaging technology to help you see what changes are realistic and achievable. These simulations can often help patients describe the results they want and the changes they would like to avoid. You need to be aware, though, that a computer simulation is not a guarantee of the result, as each person’s tissues have their own healing pattern that may influence the outcome to some extent.
Once your initial rhinoplasty consultation is completed, you’ll receive a quote from our friendly practice manager including your costs for your surgery, anaesthetic and hospital stay. Deposit details will also be provided so that you can confirm your surgery date once you’re ready to proceed. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a consent form and hospital admission paperwork to complete and will be guided and supported in the lead-up to your procedure date.
