Lip Fillers|

One of the first things we notice in another person is their smile.

Lip filler is a widely popular treatment that is normally performed with the use of soft dermal fillers. Every person has a unique lip shape, and so it’s common for cosmetic specialists to customise every lip treatment to ensure it is well-matched for their patient’s unique facial autonomy. Before the procedure, our staff would take time to assess your individual features and facial components, such as your cupid’s bow, philtrum ridge, vermillion border, oral commissure and upper and lower lips.

QUICK FACTS

Anesthesia

Local anaesthetic and numbing cream are applied to the lips before the start of the treatment. Once the lips are numb, the areas to be enhanced are marked with an eyeliner pencil. A combination of cannula and needle injection techniques are also used to minimise potential bruising and ensure accuracy and control of the procedure.

Recovery

The recovery is immediate – patients can return to normal activities right after the treatment; however, they are advised not to touch or rub their lips for the rest of the day. Swelling will appear on the lips within the next 2 –3 days which is a normal reaction after the lip enhancement treatment and will go away on its own within the first week. It is recommended that patients come in for a follow-up appointment to assess the final result and determine whether a repeat treatment is needed.

Results

The results of lip fillers are visible immediately and while in the first stage the swelling may appear, it improves completely over the course of a few weeks, with the lips acquiring a natural, voluminous shape. The results of the treatment last 6 months. In order to maintain the effects of the procedure, it is necessary to perform a repeat procedure every 6 months, otherwise the lips will gradually return to their pre-treatment appearance.
